Entering a File Installation Key into a MATLAB installer downloaded directly from the MathWorks website will not enable you to install MATLAB on an offline machine. Administrators License administrators can obtain the Activation Key and File Installation Keys through through the 'Advanced Options' button in the license. If I read the documentation correctly, now MATLAB sends the list of all the computer MAC addresses to the license server for use in constructing the license file. That could still run into problems, though, if at the time the license file was constructed, some of the ethernet devices were not present (disabled, perhaps) and if later those were activated but the devices that were noted for the.
You will need to use the new Activation Key to update your software for the new year (license valid through April 1). You can obtain the new Activation Key by following the steps below.
Go here if this is your first time obtaining MATLAB.
Note: The current version of MATLAB requires Mac OS X 10.9 or later. If you have a computer running Mac OS X 10.8 or earlier, contact the Service Center for assistance by going to help.georgetown.edu.
To obtain the new Activation Key, perform the following:
- Go to the UIS Software online store at georgetown.onthehub.com.
- Click on the link Enter Software Webstore.
- Enter your NetID and password, then click Sign In.
- Click on the link Your Account/Orders (located at the upper right-hand corner of the screen).
- Scroll until you locate your existing MATLAB order, which should be listed as the following:
MATLAB – Single Machine License - Click on that order listing. You will see the new Activation Key.
Note: Georgetown’s MATLAB license is available for Georgetown students, faculty, and staff. Students can either download MATLAB from the software webstore or access MATLAB through one of the UIS computer labs.

Step 0: Before installing
Unrar crack files and Read the readme.txt file.
Step 1: Mount the directory

After a while, the GUI of MathWorks Installer appeared.
Step 3: Continue to install
- While the GUIT is presented, select Use a File Installation key and press Next;
- Choose Yes to accept the terms of the license agreement and press Next;
- Select I have the File Installation Key for my license, and type the key from
readme.txt(In Step 0). Once finished, then press Next to continue installing; - Choose installation folder (default,
/usr/local/MATLAB/R2016b), and press Next; - Select products to install (default, select all) and press Next;
- Confirmation and press Install.
Step 4: Mount the second dvd file

When completed about 80% of the installation, it prompts you to “eject DVD 1 and insert DVD 2 to continue”.
Open a new terminal (such as, press CTRL+ALT+T), and type command in the following.
After mounted the DVD 2 successfully, press OK to continue.
Step 5: Complete the installation
Finally. “Product Configuration Notes” come out and press Next and then Finish to complete the installation.
Once finished the installing in the GUI, then umount the dvd2 from /media/[YOUR-USERNAME]/Matlab_R2016b.
Then try to activate Matlab.

Note: When first start the Matlab, try to destinate the license file to activate Matlab permanently without internet. (default, /usr/local/MATLAB/R2016b/bin/licenses/license_standalone.lic)
Step 6: Obtain support
Get support from Mathworks, such as shortcut, rename the gcc library, and so on.
Tip: Default directory: /usr/local/MATLAB/R2016b.
